The story was nicely done, though it does focus more on Waylan’s personal story and lacks all the big reveals that the base game had. Whistleblower will let you play as Waylon Park, a software engineer under contract with Murkoff and the man who emailed journalists around the world - including Miles - at the beginning of Outlast. Well theres one moment in the Whistleblower DLC where youre taken captive. Along the way he picks up a camcorder (the same model as Miles’ which apparently has some sort of super night vision mode that eats up batteries like it’s nobodies business) and uses the same mechanics in the base game to navigate the asylum and look for an exit. In the horror game Outlast, basically you try to survive in a mental asylum.
Once his corporate douchebag boss finds out that he ratted them out he proceeds to imprison Waylan, but happens and Wayland manages to escape from his cell as Mount Massive descends into chaos. Whistleblower follows the story of Waylan Park, the programmer who sent Miles Upshur the email that sent him to Mount Massive in the first place. It would be easy to just say that it’s just more of the base game, but I believe it’s entitled to a little bit more discussion… … well that, and I don’t think just saying the previous sentence constitutes enough material to make an entirely new article.
